MERRCHRISTMAS!!!!

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Well....

I figure I should update this because I have nothing else to do. I was trying to hold off as long as I could but I figure it's time.
It's been hard for our family to get into the holiday spirit with the passing of my brothers close friend. I got home from college the day of the funeral and found about 15 teenagers at my house spending time together after the funeral. It's hard to get happy about Christmas when someone you know really well and spent a lot of time with is gone. I've been sending a decent amount of pictures from my cell phone to facebook lately and every time I do, I see Garrick's name right next to facebook's. I'm never going to delete his number out of my contact list. Out of all my brother's friends, Garrick was the one that I texted the most, mainly to get ahold of Jake before he got a cell phone. But sometimes we would just text each other to make fun of Jake haha, he was a funny kid. It is tough, it's been almost two weeks since he passed, but it's hard to get over. Life will never be the same for my family, mainly my little brother. Plans that they had together are no longer a possiblity, it's just really sad.
We put up the Christmas tree on Sunday and put lights up on the house on Monday, it has helped a little bit, but it still feels like something is missing.

Gonna Miss Ya Garrick

This morning I woke up to my phone buzzing saying I got a new text. It wasn't good news. It was my mom letting me know that my little brother's really good friend had passed away last night due to an asthma attack. My brother and my cousin and another friend of theirs stayed at the hospital with Garrick's family until 2 in the morning. It's so sad :( My brother Jake and Garrick have been friends forever and they had been double's partners in tennis the past 4 years in high school. I've spent a lot of time in my life around Garrick and he was a good kid, was funny and very friendly. I can't believe it happened, I feel so bad for my brother and Garrick's family, no one saw it coming. Garrick will be missed greatly.

Love ya buddy

Geeze Louis

I can't believe it, this week is almost over!!!! After Thanksgiving, we had 2 weeks of school left and Mon-Wed just went by really fast!!!! I can't wait for this semester to get over with though. I signed up for classes late so most of the classes I wanted to take were filled so I had to sign up for a few stupid classes. Next  semester I'm actually taking classes I want to take.
You should be proud of me though, I'm finally going to pass the class that has been my kryptonite for the past 4 semesters haha, Intro to Communications. It is a required 1 credit class that is only available at 7am on Thursdays, and I've failed it the last 4 times I've taken it haha. It is just dumb and should be worth more than 1 credit with all the stuff we have to do outside of class. But I'm finally going to pass it, so I'm excited haha.
Christmas break is gonna rock though, gonna be home for like a month haha, I'm gonna be so lazy haha. The place I interned with this summer said they could use me during the break though, I don't know if I should do it though. I had no social life this summer, and I don't want that do happen to me during Christmas break. We'll see what happens.
Hmmmmm, I don't know of anything else to say, just hopefully I survive the next 6 school days haha

It's Thursday!!!!!!!

Just last Thursday, my roommate Luke and I decided to start a new tradition. First we watch The Office at 8:00, which I'm doing right now! Haha. After The Office is over, we head over to a local stakecenter and play some basketball. Last week I found out how much out of shape I am haha, I need to work out more! But that's why we started playing. Next on the list after basketball, we go get a nice and healthy drink haha, my personal favorite is the juice brand Naked, very tasty! Tonight is a special Thursday though, cuz we're going to the midnight showing of the new James Bond movie, The Quantum of Solace!!!!! It looks good, so I'm excited, plus I don't have classes on Friday so I'll be able to sleep in!!! So it's going to be a good night!!!!!

Hahaha, wow

Wellll, it has been quite some time since I wrote anything on here. A lot has changed since then. I was actually pretty mad at the moment when I wrote my last post, I had a terrible week. Things have been going pretty good for me lately though. Of course, I'm back here in Rexburg going to college at good ol' BYU-Idaho. Who knows how long i'll go to school here? I sure don't haha.
I guess a few weeks ago I had quite the experience. I was planning on driving down to Provo to meet up with my dad and go to the BYU/UNLV football
game. We had sweet tickets, ones where we could go into a tent before the game and eat some awesome food and get some good drinks. But.........just a few minutes after picking my friend and her sister up, some kid decided to cut me off while I was going 35 and I kinda smashed into him and totaled my car. And on top of that, I didn't get to go to the game, dangit! And it was a really good one too!!!! Oh well, at least everyone was ok and it wasn't my fault, so my trip to the hospital and my car were paid for by the other kid's insurence. Now I have a new car lined up for me back home, I just have to go get it. I'll head back home in a few weeks for Thanksgiving break and pick it up.
Another more positive thing that happened was after many many years of wanting to see Weezer in concert, I got to go!!!! I also got to see Angels and Airwaves and was impressed by them. Weezer was amazing though!!!!! Rivers is such a good performer, and he's hilarious!!! I had a sore throat afterwards, I sang along almost every song, it was so awesome!!!

Now i'm looking forward to AND1 streetball coming to Rexburg!! Haha, I can't wait to see Hot Sauce, he's freakin' amazing! And then at halftime of the game, Young Dre The Truth is gonna perform which is gonna be way tight too. Should be a good time.
Well, I'll try to keep up with this better, but we'll see how that works out haha, until next time.....

Monday, June 9, 2008

Yeah, I'm pretty bad at this whole blog thing, it's been a few weeks since I posted something. Life right now isn't all that great. My lack of a social life is sucking, and last week my job was pretty rough, yeah, I just want school to start again dangit! haha

At least new good music is there to comfort me haha. Mainly the new stuff that I'm liking now is the new Weezer album, The Red Album. It has some catchy songs and is just all around good. I recommend it. The new Disturbed album is pretty good too, but I know that not everyone likes that kind of music. But there are some good songs on the album that aren't too hard. The new Coldplay album has some good stuff on it too
Well, I'm hoping this upcoming week will be a better one at work, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Monday, May 19, 2008

So it's been a while since I posted something, so I thought I would do some updates. The Jazz are freaking out of the playoffs (crappy officiating finished em off). So no I'm all about the Pistons winning it all. I hate the Spurs and Lakers, don't like Chris Paul on the Hornets, so I don't like the Hornets haha, and I don't think the Celtics deserve to win after sucking so much last year and then all of a sudden getting good because of 2 big trades. So yeah, go Pistons! I've always liked Rasheed Wallace, and Richard Hamilton is from one of the cities I served in on my mission, Coatesville. I just like the Pistons all-around. So that's what's going on in sports, other than me kicking trash in my 2 fantasy baseball leagues haha.

For my job, it has totally ruined any hope i had of having a social life this summer. 1:30pm-10:30pm just really ruins it for you. It's a good job/internship, I'm learning a lot, but I'm also started to get a little irratated with the guy I work with. I wrote a story on the state track meet and then then when I looked for it in the paper, the guy I'm interning with claimed it as his own after changing some wording in the first two paragraphs. Whatever, I don't want to work there after this summer anyways, I have bigger dreams, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Fox Sports, any of those will do. For now I just have to survive the summer without killing myself (haha, I really wouldn't, but you know what I mean).

So that's what is happening in my life right about now, no life, yup, pretty much haha

I have a job/internship for the summer

Well I finally stopped being lazy and went in and got my internship, which is paid, so it's a job too i guess haha. I'm gonna be interning for The Daily Rocket-Miner, the largest newspaper in Western Wyoming. That's a lot bigger that The Scroll at BYU-Idaho that I was writing for.

I'm gonna be interning with the sports writer, which is what I want to be, and so far things are going good. I've been working for 3 days now, and after my 2nd day of work I had an article that I wrote and picture that I took in the Saturday edition of the paper. The article and photo were from a high school girls soccer game haha, not what I had in mind when I wanted to be a sports writer, but it was actually pretty fun.

So once the high schools are out and track and soccer are finished, it's gonna be a pretty laid-back summer, i'll mainly be covering the local American Legion baseball teams, most likely mainly the team in Green River.

So things are going good, hooray! haha

Monday, April 28, 2008

Well, Now I've Gone and Done it!

Well, I am 99.9% sure I have a job/internship for the summer. Friday I went in to the local newspaper, the Rocket-Miner, and gave them my articles that I wrote for The Scroll at BYU-Idaho, and the guy that I talked to basically told me that I was hired, I just have to come in on Monday when he calls me and drop off my application and resume to make it official. So yeah, I my lazyness has to come to an end, for the most part. The thing about this job is the hours are 1:00pm-10:00pm, so I can sleep in haha. I'll prolly try to go running or work out a few days of the week though before I go in to work. So tomorrow should be interesting, I don't know if they are gonna want me to stay and work when I go in or what, we'll see. Well, enough about that, the Jazz are up 3-1 now, heading back to Houston where they are gonna finish off the Rockets, the Suns won a game (yeah!), so they didn't get swept. No team has ever come back from being down 3-0 in the playoffs, so I wouldn't put my money on em, but they worked the Spurs today, so they could win another game or two, hopefully. Oh yeah, and I think that the 49ers did a pretty good job in the draft. A lot going on in sports, I love it!!!!! haha

GO JAZZ!!!!

Ok, so what I wanted to happen the other night, didn't really happen haha. I wanted the Suns to win, they lost, I wanted the Mavs to win, they lost, I wanted the Rockies to win, they blew it, and I wanted the Magic to win, and they actually did, but I didn't really care about that game! Haha oh well, at least I know the Jazz are gonna win tonight. They play at home against the Rockets, and the Jazz just don't lose at home, only 4 losses at home the whole regular season. So yeah, I'm expecting the Jazz to go up 3-0 tonight. And the Rockies already won. I was going to go and try to get a job, but then I saw the Rockies were on, whoops, haha, but I got copies made while I was watching the game of the 7 articles I wrote in the schoool paper at BYU-I. So now tomorrow I can go in to the newspaper and show them my stuff. I've been home from school from about a week and a half and I haven't done a thing, sadly that needs to change. Not a whole lot is going on though other than me watching a lot of sports and being lazy and not getting a job, haha. Oh yeah, can't forget about The Office tonight, new episode, Boom Baby!!!!!

Ok, I Think I Somewhat Have This Down

So this will take some time to perfect, we'll see what happens. Well, what's going on right now? Nothing job-wise for me, I really should get on top of that haha. But something that is going on right now, the NBA Playoffs! The Suns play the Spurs tonight, and I sure hope the Suns win. I'm sorry Patriots and Yankees, but the Spurs have my vote for the team I despise the most in sports. Their "Big 3" are some of the most annoying players in the league, mainly Tim Duncan. That guy is rediculous, he's such a cry baby. Every time he gets stuffed he cries and complains to the refs, and every time he commits an obvious foul and is called for it, he cries again, ugh, can't stand that guy. Anyways, the Suns and the Jazz are my 2 teams, I've cheered for both of them growing up, I got my first basketball jersey when I was in 5th grade, a Charles Barkley jersey, I wore that thang with pride. So I really liked the Suns then, and then growing up so close to Salt Lake, I've been to tons of Jazz games and you gotta cheer for them, their like my home-town team, even though they're 2 1/2 hours away haha. So the Suns better not blow it again tonight. I'll be watching for sure. There are 3 NBA finals games on, which I'll watch, and the Rockies play the Phillies tonight too, I'm gonna be watchin that too haha. What a busy night! So what I'm hoping for tonight in the games I'm gonna watch: a Mavericks win, a Suns win, a Magic win, and a Rockies win. Haha, we'll see what happens with that. Oh yeah, and the Rockets, mainly the coach and Tracey McGrady, need to stop whining about the offensive foul call at the end of the game yesterday. It was a foul, doesn't matter if AK flopped a little bit, Scola was holding him back, it's a foul, doesn't matter if it's at the end of an important game, a fould is a foul and should always be called, stop whining Rockets, the Jazz own you anyways, haha.

I finally gave in to the blogging craze

Well, after seeing many of my friends having blogs, and knowing that I'm going to be very bored this summer, I decided to give this blogging thing a try. I used to write blogs all the time on Myspace, then I stopped for some reason. If you hate sports, you might not like my blog, cuz I'm sure I'm gonna talk about the NBA Playoffs quite a bit and baseball, and heck, maybe even the NFL, inculding the upcoming draft. So yeah, if my page looks retarded, take it easy on me, I'm new to this stuff haha.
