Worth A Thousand Words "Andy Arnold"

I went to the tutorial page on how to post pictures, but the screen they showed on the example was not the same as what is on my computer. So I'm putting the pics on my blog (that I haven't updated forever haha).

This first picture is my family's last Christmas photo, that's me on the right. My hair has only been short for 5 days now haha. I chose this picture though because my family is important to me, the most important thing.

This second picture is a picture I took at Colorado Rockies playoff game 3 years ago. I love sports, and am going into sports journalism. I'll always remember this, I flew out from Idaho Falls to Denver and met up with my older brother. I'm from Wyoming and grew up going to Rockies games and had never been to a game as packed and intense as this one. Rockies won this game and we went crazy haha.

My last picture is a picture of the Tetons I took a few weeks ago. I chose this picture for two reasons, one is because I love nature, I go hiking in the mountains in Wyoming as often as I can. Second reason I chose this is because I've also tried to take more pictures of nature the past few years, I'm doing a Photography cluster.

So that's me, in three pictures.

Favorite songs of 2009

I just copy and pasted this from my facebook, I'm lazy, so what haha
I was thinking about making a Top 10 list of my favorite songs from 09 and then my buddy C-Bass did it, looked like fun so I decided to go through with it haha.

10. Anberlin - Baby Please Come Home- This was my Christmas song this year, listened to it a ton around the holidays.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg_NtRN0-8E

9. The Mars Volta - With Twilight As My Guide- This was my stargazing song, nothing like listening to these guys while watching a meteor shower haha. The Mars Volta is awesome, they pretty much have their own genre in music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9Mx1K2a4KQ

8. Weezer - The Underdogs- This song is off of Weezer's newest cd that recently came out. I love it, Rivers is the man.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz9mpWMB4aQ

7. LIGHTS - Saviour- This whole album is really good, something about her voice, I like it haha. Ok, she's good looking too, but her music is good too. One of my biggest regrets of 09 was not seeing her in concert when I could have, dangit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9jtaWVkNn0

6. Jay-Z - Young Forever ft. Mr. Hudson- When I listen to Jay-Z's newest album on Rhapsody before it was released, this song stuck out to me the most. I love how smooth and chill he is in this song, and the chorus is catchy haha.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z1iC94MDgM

5. Mastodon-The Czar- So this album blew my mind when I listened to it the first time, I love it when that happens haha. This song is so awesome, you have to listen to the whole thing. It's a long song but awesome. My favorite part starts right before 8 minutes in, so rad!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6Vf5syTfmE

4. fun. - The Gambler- First hearing this song on the album it was really awesome. But then seeing fun. in concert, this song was AMAZING! You can tell it means a lot to Nate. I love how much into it he gets into it.

3. Muse - Undisclosed Desires- Off of their new cd, this was the song that grabbed me the most. Sweet song to cruise to. The chick in the music video is kinda freaky though haha.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8OOWcsFj0U&feature=fvst

2. Manchester Orchestra - I've Got Friends- Something about this song, I like it a lot. The music video is pretty sweet too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuixT3IGClY

1. fun. - Be Calm- First track on Aim and Ignite, when it was released I listened to this song first and my mind was blown once again. My favorite song off of an amazing album. Good message too, when I get stressed I listen to this one

So there you have it my favorites of the year. "If you don't like it, you can shove it. But you don't like it, you love it!" haha

We Went To SLC, It Was FUN.

Back on September 8th, Luke and I made a 1 day down and back trip down to Salt Lake to watch a band perform, their name is Fun. I know I know, you might be thinking "What the heck kind of name is Fun for a band!?" Well after seeing them live, the name definitely makes sense!!!

Back about 3 years ago, I was introduced to a band, The Format. The first week I heard them, I went down to a concert of theirs in Pocatello, Idaho at Idaho State University. When I heard them live, they had me hooked, I was a fan. I was lucky enough to see them again 2 summers ago at a music festival in Salt Lake, which ended up being one of their last concerts before they BROKE UP! It was hard to believe that this band, that sang with so much heart and meaning had broken up, we were crushed. But the lead singer Nate Ruess wasn't done. That's where Fun. comes in.

Nate formed the group with Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost, who had both already been in other bands. Many of us Format fans waited, having high hopes for their first album, and about a month ago, we were finally satisfied. Nate picked up where he left off with his lyrical genius, their album Aim and Ignite was what we had been waiting for, and more!

So back to the trip down to Salt Lake, Fun. was first going to have an in store performance and and 2 hours later were going to have their big show. The in store performance was at a Graywhale music store on the University of Utah campus (GO BYU! haha) and they played outside with the fans gathered around, it was really cool. Then after we got to meet the band and get autographs.

After the in store performance we killed some time at the Gateway mall by doing some people watching haha, always fun. After chilling for about 45 minutes, we headed over to the venue for the night concert, Kilby Court.

Kilby Court is in the middle of nowhere in Salt Lake. From the outside it doesn't look like a venue. When we finally got in, the venue was SMALL! It's like they were playing in a garage haha. But that just made it even more awesome. The smaller the venue, the closer we all were to the band as they played, it was an amazing atmosphere, and an amazing show.

The day started at 9:00am and ended around 1:00am after we returned back to Rexburg. It was an awesome day and now we can't wait to see Fun. again.

3-11 3-3-11

I finally got to check another band off of my need-to-see list, 311!!! I've been wanting to go to one of their concerts for forever, and it was awesome. Now I just need to see the Foo Fighters, Incubus, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Linkin Park. I'm looking forward to those concerts!
This is an up close shot, not by me but by Rob Hall who gave me my ticket!

I thought it was cool

So on Sunday I went to Victor, Idaho to go to church and eat dinner with my parents and grandparents. I went out to get some watercress with my grandpa and took some sweet pics.

On the way back to Rexburg from Victor, I could tell that there was going to be an amazing sunset, the first thing I thought of was "I gotta get to the temple!" So I sped back to Rexburg and went straight to the temple and got some amazing pictures, here are a few of em, enjoy!

My bad, haha

Sooo, it's been a really long time since I updated this, you'd think I'd be able to since I'm a jobless slob. Ok, I'm not a slob, just jobless haha.

I've been out of school for a little over a month and I can't find a job. I've been shot down at a ton of places, sucks. It's my first time ever spending a summer in Rexburg, and it's the worst time ever to try to find a job. But there is hope.....

I interviewed at Hollister in Idaho Falls on Tuesday, so we'll see if I get hired there, I sure hope I do, I don't know what else to do if that fails.

Plenty of students here in Rexburg donate plasma twice a week for $50 and have no problems with it. Well I was broke and needed money, so I have in and did it, despite my hatered towards getting needles stuck in me. First time I went, I was fine the whole time until I had about 5 minutes left and I started getting light headed, I didn't pass out but it was a close call haha.

I went back a few days later since you can only go twice every seven days, and my second time, was worse than the first. They said the pressure was bad or something so they had to adjust the needle around and did something. 2 days later my arm started bruising and now it looks all jacked up. No more donating plasma for me, I hate it.
My arm after 2 days

My arm after 6 days

My arm after 8 days

So yeah, I don't want to do that anymore haha. Hopefully I get the job, if not, anyone want to give me some money? Hahaha, jk, I'll find out in a day or so if Hollister decided to hire me, I'm keeping my fingers crossed until then, haha.
